My Mum thought us to knit, crochet and sew from the age of 4 and today I have been send a lovely present,…..with a twist.

I had received an email asking for my postal address and this is what I got…

It is all to do with the Vodafone ad that came about when Eilish Tuite, a student from Limerick IT, wanted to cheer up Ireland!
Hurray for someone standing out!
Need to have something to knit…….get more information by clicking on this link:

..then knit an A4 piece and send it to:
Sculpture and Combined Media Department,
Limerick School of Art and Design,
LIT,
Clare st,
Limerick,
Ireland
=======================================
Their Aim:
What we want to do is cover an empty building in Limerick City with approximately 3,000 knitted patches, patches that have been knitted all over the country and sent to us by the community. The patches will be A4 in size and once 3,000 have been collected, they will be stitched together to create a blanket over the entire building. Limerick and Ireland is in some serious need of cheering up and this will do just the trick. The project is being supported by Vodafone Irelands Cheer up Ireland campaign. When the project has been completed, the blanket will be separated into smaller knitted blankets which will then be donated to the St. Vincents Community. The charity is very deserving and has helped a lot of people in Ireland, and that’s why this project will give something back to them.

This is an amazing idea and when i was strolling through Mahon Point Shopping Centre a few weeks ago and saw someone teaching kids how to knit at a Vodafone Kiosk I was delighted. Hope Eilish Tuite gets an award for such a brilliant concept and well done to Vodafone for seeing the potential of this idea….I have my needles out - now to remember plain and purl…..
