Christmas Craft Fair

An opportunity has come up to run a craft fair for the month of December.

The location has quarter of a million residences in a five mile radius. It is in a big empty shop across from Smyths toy store in Tallaght. There are twenty, three meter spaces in the windows and room for fifty stalls. It is big, bright and a five minute walk from the square.

It is mentioned that it would be good for sales, if you wanted to set yourself up doing your craft in the windows and then have your stall there too. (Glass blowing may have to be reconsidered!!)

Feed back is needed to see if this project should go ahead!

I spoke to an artist yesterday and I was nearly suicidal after listening to how it was a bad idea. It can be used to your advantage, so I would love reasonable ideas and this could be a good thing. I think asking anyone to display for 23 days would be too much even if you didn’t have anything else to do in life!

There are three weekends in December.

Last Friday I went to see the location and I thought it would be a great display space.
The person that would be looking after the premises runs the food market there every Friday and Saturday.

Feedback is needed ASAP…there is a lot to organise for an event like this, and
advertising alone needs to be done so that people are waiting for it to happen.

Stalls would need to be very affordable, hopefully about 30 Euro a day for the basic package.

Naturally public liability insurance is needed. (Info on insurance will be posted this week)
