just to let you know that there is also a christmas craft fair on the 17th and 18th of November in St. Ann’s Hall, Dublin Road, Portlaoise.

There’s also a Christmas Craft Fair in in Croke Park on the weekend of 16th-18th November…. and there’s a smaller craft fair on in Taney Church Hall in Dundrum the 2nd Sat. of each month, the next is 10th Nov and then 8th Dec.

you can share stands at the City Hall Craft Fair, lots of people do it. Sometimes the Craft Council of Ireland have adverts in the newsletter from people looking to share space.

We are running our 2nd Xmas Craft Fair in Rathoe, Co. Carlow on Sunday 30th. November 2008. We had 30 tables filled last year and it went great. We have a few spaces this year available. Hi Mauri - I’m a craftsperson here in Co. Sligo, and I can tell you for certain that there’s to be the annual Christmas Crafts Fair at the Clarion Hotel in Sligo (just north of the town centre) on Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th. There will be 21 stalls there this year, and I’ll be selling my Celtic woodcrafts there - everything from hand-lettered name plaques (county names, townland names, family names) and unique, one-off wooden Celtic crosses, that I’ve designed and hand-painted individually, based on the designs and motifs from the Book of Kells. There are usually smaller ones at the Clarence Hotel in Sligo, which I sold at last year, as well as one in Tubbercurry at the end of November usually, in the town above the local chemist’s shop. There’s also one at Banada Abbey, in South Sligo, which I’ve not yet sold at yet, but may do next year. Also, last year there was a lovely one at Dromahair, but I’m not sure how well it did to continue on this year. You might want to check either the Sligo Champion or, better still, for a bigger scope, Western People. which always has listings of events going on in not only Sligo, but Mayo, Roscommon and Leitrim. I hope this helps you a bit, and I hope to see you at the Clarion in December. Tell your friends about that fair, as it’s always been a great and fun and unique shopping experience - complete with one stall selling home baked scones and cakes and bikkies that makes you feel Christmas-y all over. Friday, Sat & Sun 27/28/29 November 09.

This is a fabulous old building recently renoveted by Carlow and Wicklow County Council. There will be 30 stalls in the Main Hall and some artists and photographers displaying in the Drawing Room. There will be Christmas Trees & Wreaths for sale in the Courtyard and the Campus Cafe will be open during the fair.

Free admission and parking for the public.

Please note that the Manorhmailton event is now taking place on Sunday 6th December at the Bee Park Community Centre in Manorhamilton association with the North Leitrim Women’s Centre in order to aid with their fundraising. The event will take place between 2pm and 6pm and the fee is €15 per table, Tables are provided. The women’s centre is able to promote the fair to their members by mail and we feel that by joining forces, sellers will benefit from higher numbers and the centre will benefit from funds being raised, thank you.

Two areas available for the Food & Craft Fair in Caragh, Naas on Sunday Dec 6th. Over 30 exhibitors. Huge range of crafts on display. Refreshments served with festive treats throughout the day. Admission is FREE. Plenty of gifts to choose from plus lots of stocking fillers. This year we have the new addition of the KIDS CRAFT CORNER. This is a supervised area for children to create crafts of their own while parents can browse through the fair at their leisure.

Great news for the ArtFair
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating in a survey of the Christmas craft fairs they attended in Ireland and get a feel of how successful they were and why. Questions may include: advertising campaign prior to fair, + and - of location, cost versus success, etc.

I would need your and your readers input to gather questions that benefit everybody.

Would it be a beneficial addition to your website for next year craftfair planning for craftpeople?

We are holding a Easter Craft and Food Fair in aid of the Esther Benjamins Trust at the Boyne Valley Hotel, Drogheda on Sunday 4th and Monday the 5th of April from 10am till 5pm (on both days).

Stands for two days.
120 euro if you pay on the day (50% deposit required in advance)
100 euro if you pay in full in advance.

Stands are 6ft covered tables with chairs and electric is available on request. The room will be locked over night and security is present in the hotel if you wish to leave your stand in place overnight. Special hotel rates are available to anyone wishing to stay over at the hotel or at another local one if this one is booked out for Easter.

please advise or help if able, my above website i only set up since xmas, everything i make is 100% handmade by myself, i am not a young generation member but have loved crafts of textiles etc and making things that interest me all my life and it is only since retiring that i decided to take it a step further, there is not alot on my site at present but i will be adding on a weekly basis from march 1st 2010, i did very well for myself at local fairs thru winter xmas 2009, but would like to here of other fairs in the following regions if anyone can help, clare, limerick,galway, mayo, sligo, starting anytime from april onwards, hoping someone can help me, thank all of you out there, Liz (a happy crafter)

Crafters Ireland Christmas fair dates are :

Sunday 14 nov: ardboyne hotel Navan
Sunday 21 nov: the royal hotel Bray
Sunday 28 nov: Ardee Parish Hall Ardee
Sat and Sunday 4&5 December: Boyne valley hotel Drogheda
Sunday 12 December: the Darnley Arms Athboy

all events run 11-5 pm santa will be there along with free kids facepainting and entertainment. Extensive advertising as usual with a crafters Ireland fair.

75 euro per event and 140 euro if booking two days at boyne valley. Spaces being reserved now for just 25 euro deposit.

We are looking for crafts and foods, flowers and any other exciting exhibits.
