Irish landscape, Newgrange, the ancient Ogham writing, Celtic knots found in the

Book of Kells and of course the Claddagh plus many more to bring you a unique

collection of beautifully handcrafted Irish jewelry.

In addition to his own designs Eoghan has been creating bespoke custom pieces

for customers for over ten years.

“I love to work with client in helping them create new jewelry designs, ensuring

each piece shows individual style and uniqueness that the client desires. I take

great pride in bringing your design from an idea to reality”.

May 13.- Gilded ‘Nature Icons’ Workshop - With KevinMcSherry - Rathmines, Dublin 6

http://www.mcsherrystudio.com/p/may.html

A full day SUNDAY tutored workshop in painting and gilding ‘Nature Icons’.

11.00AM to 4.45PM

Cost €75

with a one hour lunch break. 8 places ONLY.

These gilded paintings are like jewels -they catch the eye with the richness of the colours and lustre of the gilding. They’re reminiscent of Byzantine religious icons and they sanctify these beautiful creatures. Using imitation Gold leaf, you’ll get an insight into how it can bring a stunning new dimension into your art work.

As in all my classes, I’ll demonstrate as we go along through the process and all participants will get personal attention throughout the day.

There’s full facilities in this venue - plus there’s a 10% discount on art supplies when you attend this workshop.

To speed up the painting process, I’ll provide a selection of photographic references and templates. I will provide paint, boards and gilding materials. We will be working with ACRYLICS ONLY for this workshop.

We’ll cover the following:

  • Preparation and composition
  • Drawing the figure
  • Painting the composition
  • Gilding
  • Refining and completion

Learn to draw and paint oils and acrylics with, Kevin McSherry, in his Dublin art studio in South Dublin. Morning and evening classes for adults of all abilities. Small class sizes. Look out for the special summer schedule of one-off classes.

‘A room of one’s own’ - Exhibition Roisin O Farrell Artist

a load of cobblers - Roisin
The show opens at The Doorway Gallery, 24 Sth Fredrick Street, D2.Thursday 20th of September 6pm and runs until Oct 16th.
till the cows come home - Roisin O Farrell Artist

‘A room of one’s own’

Virgina Wolfe remarked that in order for a woman to write she must have two things “a room of one’s own and a secure living”.

Róisín has been exploring this theme in both her life and her work over the last two years. Her current exhibition is an expression of how she has navigated these two basic needs.

The paintings reflect the home in which she lives with her children and the warmth, fun and imperfect character that ‘home’ suggests. The quietness, light and sense of calm in her paintings reflect the space that Róisín has carved out of her life, both figuratively and practically, for her work.

Her style is painterly. She uses the palette knife and lots of buttery paint to describe scenes of eccentric chairs and colourful rooms. Her work is known for it’s use of strong clear colour and a sense of light.

Róisín’s success has become the thing that in itself sustains her ability to create. Her work is in high demand and is exhibited widely in established galleries in the UK and Ireland.

This solo exhibition at The Doorway Gallery will comprise 16 new paintings and opens, 6pm on Thursday September 20th, the evening before Culture Night, and will run until October 17th. Róisín will also be giving a painting demonstration at the gallery on Culture Night Sept 21st.

“Róisín O’Farrell’s work is beautiful, detailed, powerful and decidedly female” Barbara Muir
