you can share stands at the City Hall Craft Fair, lots of people do it. Sometimes the Craft Council of Ireland have adverts in the newsletter from people looking to share space.

We are running our 2nd Xmas Craft Fair in Rathoe, Co. Carlow on Sunday 30th. November 2008. We had 30 tables filled last year and it went great. We have a few spaces this year available. Hi Mauri - I’m a craftsperson here in Co. Sligo, and I can tell you for certain that there’s to be the annual Christmas Crafts Fair at the Clarion Hotel in Sligo (just north of the town centre) on Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th. There will be 21 stalls there this year, and I’ll be selling my Celtic woodcrafts there - everything from hand-lettered name plaques (county names, townland names, family names) and unique, one-off wooden Celtic crosses, that I’ve designed and hand-painted individually, based on the designs and motifs from the Book of Kells. There are usually smaller ones at the Clarence Hotel in Sligo, which I sold at last year, as well as one in Tubbercurry at the end of November usually, in the town above the local chemist’s shop. There’s also one at Banada Abbey, in South Sligo, which I’ve not yet sold at yet, but may do next year. Also, last year there was a lovely one at Dromahair, but I’m not sure how well it did to continue on this year. You might want to check either the Sligo Champion or, better still, for a bigger scope, Western People. which always has listings of events going on in not only Sligo, but Mayo, Roscommon and Leitrim. I hope this helps you a bit, and I hope to see you at the Clarion in December. Tell your friends about that fair, as it’s always been a great and fun and unique shopping experience - complete with one stall selling home baked scones and cakes and bikkies that makes you feel Christmas-y all over. Calling all stallholders wishing to sell their products at the very first Christmas Fair to be held in

Clermont in Rathnew Co. Wicklow (just off N11)

Friday, Sat & Sun 27/28/29 November 09.

This is a fabulous old building recently renoveted by Carlow and Wicklow County Council. There will be 30 stalls in the Main Hall and some artists and photographers displaying in the Drawing Room. There will be Christmas Trees & Wreaths for sale in the Courtyard and the Campus Cafe will be open during the fair.

Free admission and parking for the public.

There will be plenty of media promotion of this event beforehand.

Please note that the Manorhmailton event is now taking place on Sunday 6th December at the Bee Park Community Centre in Manorhamilton association with the North Leitrim Women’s Centre in order to aid with their fundraising. The event will take place between 2pm and 6pm and the fee is €15 per table, Tables are provided. The women’s centre is able to promote the fair to their members by mail and we feel that by joining forces, sellers will benefit from higher numbers and the centre will benefit from funds being raised, thank you.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating in a survey of the Christmas craft fairs they attended in Ireland and get a feel of how successful they were and why. Questions may include: advertising campaign prior to fair, + and - of location, cost versus success, etc.

I would need your and your readers input to gather questions that benefit everybody.

Would it be a beneficial addition to your website for next year craftfair planning for craftpeople?

We are holding a Easter Craft and Food Fair in aid of the Esther Benjamins Trust at the Boyne Valley Hotel, Drogheda on Sunday 4th and Monday the 5th of April from 10am till 5pm (on both days).

Stands for two days.
120 euro if you pay on the day (50% deposit required in advance)
100 euro if you pay in full in advance.

Stands are 6ft covered tables with chairs and electric is available on request. The room will be locked over night and security is present in the hotel if you wish to leave your stand in place overnight. Special hotel rates are available to anyone wishing to stay over at the hotel or at another local one if this one is booked out for Easter.

Hi all, great page I must say full of info, Can I ask as I’m checking this currently at work… is there any fairs on between now & Xmas where my two sisters & I could setup one Therapy bed to do IET Healing (Healing with your Angels) We’re very new to the fairs side of things & we where asked last Sunday to setup in the Carlton Hotel in Limerick & we enjoyed our day so much. We meet lovely people one Martina Flynn Fitzgerald who passed on Karens page to us. We have our own healing Rooms in our homes but enjoyed the fair so much on Sunday we would be very Interested in doing it again. So one Therapy Bed & 3 IET Master Instructors we work as a team thanking you 7 blessing to all,

Hello,

I am carrying out some research to see if their would be an interest for a regular craft fair in Cavan,
I have a premise with that would hold the largest fair in the country.
I make my own products but have found that these fairs only seem to be around Christmas,the other problem I encountered was that most venues are small and can only cater for a small group.
The few I went too very small and the range of goods were very disappointing.It appeared that the organisers were just happy to sell the few tables and forget about the choice of goods.

My idea is to hold a large fair of around 100 or more stalls,this would attract a wider audience and once they see the range this would benefit all involved.

If anyone has any feedback I would be delighted to hear from them,send me a quick email and I can return a call.

I think you will agree that fairs change every year, the people organising them do send me information and I post it individually on the site, but to try to compile a list that is accurate every year would be a full time job!

We have our christmas markets in Laragh/Gendalough on the 2nd and 16th Dec. Lots of crafts and baking plus santa will be arriving on the 16th we also have some tables left if anyone wants a stall but they are going fast as the fee is only €20.
